Summary
Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry offers consumers services in the field of soil classification by types of soil formation, degree of moisture, granulometric composition, cadastral assessment under an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners interested in a distribution services agreement.
Description
The systematization of soils is carried out using original methods applied in the compilation of the "Atlas of Soils of Agricultural Lands of the Republic of Belarus".

The publication summarizes the research materials on the current state of soils and soil cover of agricultural lands of the Republic of Belarus by types of soil formation, degree of moisture, particle size distribution, cadastral assessment.

The genetic characteristics of the physicochemical, agrochemical, water-physical properties, mineralogical composition of soils are presented, taking into account the ranking of soil-ecological provinces - northern, central and southern. The results of long-term studies on the characteristics of eroded soils on moraine, loess-like and loess parent rocks are summarized.

The soil atlas is intended for researchers and specialists in the field of soil science, agrochemistry, land reclamation, environmental protection, geography; managers and specialists of enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Belarus; teachers and students of agricultural, environmental, biological, geographical, hydromelioration specialties.

Additional comments
The Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the only scientific and methodological center for soil and agrochemical research in the republic responsible for the development of theoretical and applied aspects of the protection and reproduction of soil fertility. The soil and agrochemical research of the institute determines the long-term prospects for the work of agricultural bodies of the republic in the field of efficient use of soil resources, preservation and improvement of their fertility and efficient use of chemicals.

The main areas of scientific and scientific-technical activities of the organization are:
- rational use of soil resources, assessment and reproduction of soil fertility;
- monitoring of soil fertility, optimization of agrochemical properties of soils;
- development of efficient resource-saving technologies for the use of macro- and microfertilizers for agricultural crops;
- agrochemical methods for improving the quality of plant products, balanced in chemical composition and content of microelements;
- development of new forms of environmentally acceptable complex fertilizers and biological preparations, balanced in composition, taking into account the properties of soils and biological characteristics of agricultural crops;
- development of an energy-saving system for protecting arable soils in areas subject to water and wind erosion and integrated soil conservation organization of the territory;
- study of the composition and properties of soils, patterns of their distribution, classification, diagnostics, mapping and cadastral assessment;
- study of the agrophysical properties and biological activity of soils, development of methods for their improvement. Creation of a database of agrophysical properties of soils in Belarus;
- study of patterns of manifestation and monitoring of erosion processes on arable soils, development of methods for the rational use of eroded and erosion-hazardous soils. Design of anti-erosion complexes in different landscape zones;
- monitoring the state of soil fertility in the Republic of Belarus and development of integrated agrochemical measures to improve it. Creation of a database of agrochemical properties of soils in Belarus;
- study of biological properties of main soil varieties depending on the levels of application of chemicals and development of methods for their improvement;
- study of humus regime of soils, intensity of humification and mineralization processes at different doses of organic fertilizers;
- study of balance of macro- and microelements in main soil varieties in stationary lysimetric experiments;
- development of resource-saving technologies for application of organic, mineral macro- and microfertilizers for agricultural crops for main soil varieties based on principles of preservation and improvement of soil fertility;
- development of new forms of complex macro- and microfertilizers for agricultural crops and recommendations for their effective application;
- assessment of quality of plant products depending on soil condition and applied agricultural technologies.

Since 1967, under the scientific and methodological guidance of the Institute, 12 rounds of large-scale agrochemical survey of the soils of agricultural lands of the Republic have been conducted, and after the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, the Institute became a methodological developer of radiological survey of soils of territories contaminated with radionuclides.

The Institute has formed a computer database of agrochemical properties of soils, in which since 1980 data on the state of agrochemical indicators have been accumulated, which are updated in accordance with the rounds of large-scale agrochemical survey of soils. The data bank is used to evaluate the results of agrochemical survey of soils, develop plans for the use of fertilizers for agricultural crops, etc.
