Summary
A.V.Luikov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute of the NAS of Belarus offers consumers a technology for obtaining powdered materials from solutions and suspensions under a commercial agreements with technical assistance, a spray installation with a combined energy supply for their production under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a technical cooperation agreement.
Description
Spray drying is a promising technology for obtaining powdered materials from solutions and suspensions. The advantages of this technology include the high quality of materials due to the short duration of thermal exposure, the possibility of obtaining instant, finely dispersed and granular materials, high productivity and the possibility of process automation. The advantage of the technology is a reduction in energy consumption and a reduction in size.

A.V.Luikov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute of the NAS of Belarus has developed the design of a spray installation with a combined convective-radiation heat supply, which allows reducing the specific heat consumption for the process, increasing productivity, plant efficiency and moisture content of the chamber volume.

The developed technology consists in the combined energy impact on the drops of the sprayed liquid by convection and infrared radiation directed to the area of the torch with the highest concentration of particles. The coolant is fed into the chamber through a gas distribution device made in the form of perforated gratings. The jet outflow of the coolant, acting on the spray jet, creates an intense convective heat and mass transfer. The high density of the infrared heat flux in the area of the torch is achieved due to the location of the emitters at an angle to the vertical axis. For dispersing liquids, two- and three-channel pneumatic nozzles are used, which make it possible to introduce dispersed material (filler) into the spray torch.

The principle of operation of the spray installation:

Scheme-of-operation-of-the-spray-installation
Main technical characteristics:
installation performance 5–15 kg/h
maximum power of infrared emitters 9 kW
maximum coolant temperature at the chamber inlet 200°C
chamber diameter 1,2 m
rated power of one emitter 1 kW

Areas of use:
In the food industry (to obtain powdered milk, albumin, protein mixtures, dried vegetable proteins, instant coffee, tea, sugar and sweeteners, plant extracts, dry yeast, starches and their derivatives, seasonings, vegetable and chicken powders, animal feed, etc. .d.); in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries (for the production of fragrances, dyes, household chemicals, plastics, resins, polyethylene, fertilizers, antibiotics and various pharmaceutical powders, etc.); to obtain dry building mixtures, ceramic powders, bulk materials for the production of ceramics; in mining, metallurgical, coal, agricultural, microbiological and other fields.

The Institute offers partners:
* within the framework of a commercial agreements with technical assistance, the acquisition of technology for obtaining powdered materials from solutions and suspensions;
* as part of a manufacturing agreement, the acquisition of a spray installation with a combined energy supply;
* within the framework of a technical cooperation agreement, the joint development of the technology for obtaining powdered materials from solutions and suspensions, and the improvement of a spray installation with a combined energy supply.

Advantages and Innovations
The innovative technology of a spray installation with a combined heat supply at coolant temperatures at the chamber inlet of 110–150°C makes it possible to reduce the specific heat consumption for moisture evaporation by 37% and increase the plant efficiency, increase the moisture content of the chamber volume and the productivity of evaporated moisture by 2–3 times .

The possibilities of obtaining powdered materials with desired properties, homogeneous composite products with the introduction of various kinds of dispersed fillers, microgranular products, modification of materials by introducing various components, including carbon nanomaterials, are expanding; process control is improved.
