Summary
Institute of Nature Management offers consumers soil ameliorants for ecological rehabilitation and restoration of disturbed, degraded and low-fertile lands under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement and a joint venture agreement.
Description
Institute of Nature Management of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has developed ameliorants for ecological rehabilitation and restoration of disturbed, degraded and low-fertile lands, obtaining environmentally friendly crop products on lands subjected to technogenic pollution (heavy metals, pesticides, etc.).

Ameliorants are based on natural dispersed organic, organo-mineral and mineral materials (peat, sapropel, brown coal, clay rocks, etc.) with various modifying, balancing and stabilizing additives. Ameliorants are highly effective in restoring the main soil regimes and properties, minimizing the negative consequences caused by soil pollution with exogenous chemicals of various nature and concentration. They have specified physico-chemical parameters and nutrient content, which provide a long-term ameliorative effect along with good growth and harmonious development of cultivated plants.

Ecological cleanliness; homogeneity of the structure, constancy of composition and balance in terms of nutrients; the presence of mineral and organo-mineral colloidal particles that are resistant to destruction and provide a long-term positive effect on the comprehensive improvement of soil properties and regimes; increased sorption capacity and ability to complex formation; increased biological activity, the content of humus-like and plant growth-stimulating substances; provide excellent growth and development of plants, increases their resistance to adverse factors.

Ameliorants are intended for:
* green arrangement of desert territories;
* reduction of unproductive losses of soil (irrigation) moisture for evaporation;
* reclamation of territories disturbed by human activities;
* reduction of osmotic stress in plants growing on saline soils;
* as organic fertilizers in the cultivation of agricultural crops;
* creating soil fertility in an environmentally friendly way;
* reducing soil salinity;
* reducing the dependence of plants on the use of chemicals and fertilizers;
* stimulating plant growth;
* increasing the resistance of plants to diseases;
* reduction of migration mobility of moisture and unproductive consumption of irrigation moisture.
Advantages and Innovations
The advantage of ameliorants is that they consist of environmentally friendly natural products (peat, sapropel, brown coal, etc.). Ameliorants have been tested in the field conditions of various soil and climatic zones with different specialization and intensity of economic activity.

Additional comments
The Institute of Nature Management is one of the oldest institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, carrying out research in the field of Earth sciences. The activities of the Institute are aimed at solving the problems of rational nature management and environmental protection together with international organizations.

The Institute carries out research in the following areas:
- development of scientific bases of nature management and environmental protection;
- assessment, forecasting and optimization of anthropogenic impacts on natural complexes;
- scientific justification for the creation of resource-saving technologies for the extraction, processing and use of solid fossil fuels;
- study of the formation conditions and assessment of the state of fresh drinking and mineral waters;
- study of the geodynamics of the earth's crust and modern geological processes on the territory of Belarus;
- geoecological substantiation of the design and placement of especially critical structures and environmentally hazardous facilities (nuclear power plants, hydroelectric power plants, underground gas storage facilities, high-toxic waste disposal sites, etc.);
- diagnostics of the state of the natural environment based on the use of modern aerospace, ground, telecommunications and information-measuring tools;
- study of the global and regional climate and its changes under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors; forecasting climate change and its consequences.

The Institute participates in the scientific support of 6 international conventions:
- Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution;
- Ramsar Convention on Wetlands;
- UN Framework Convention on Climate Change;
- Stockholm Convention on POPs;
- UN Convention to Combat Desertification/Land Degradation;
- Convention on Biological Diversity.

The Institute has scientific contacts with organizations in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, China, the Baltic countries, Armenia, Vietnam.
