Linked profile in other language
Svetlana Yarchakovskaya
Institute of Plant Protection offers consumers a biological preparation for the protection of oak and other deciduous crops from leaf-eating pests and protected ground cucumber from the common spider mite under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners interested in a distribution services agreement.
The active principle of the spore, crystals and thermostable exotoxin of a highly virulent strain of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. darmstadiensis. The effectiveness of the drug is manifested with the active feeding of pests, which contributes to the intoxication of the insect. Pests infected with the drug do not feed, do not damage plants, and die after a few days. The drug is characterized by an aftereffect - part of the pests, remaining after treatment, dies in the next generation, which increases the protective effect.

Additional comments
Institute of Plant Protection is a leading scientific and methodological center coordinating scientific research on the protection of agricultural plants from pests, diseases and weeds in Belarus.
The main task of the institute is to increase the effectiveness of plant protection. The efforts of the scientists of the institute are aimed at reducing the harmfulness of phytophages, phytopathogens and weeds in agrocenoses and obtaining high quality crop yields.

The priority areas of the Institute's activities are:
- Development of scientific criteria for the production and rational use of effective, environmentally friendly means of protecting crops from harmful organisms based on the use of local raw materials and strains of microorganisms.
- Development and introduction into production of technologies for the protection of cereals, potatoes, fodder, industrial, vegetable and fruit crops from pests, diseases and weeds.
- Development of methodological bases of ecological safety of plant protection systems.
- Development of information technologies in plant protection.
- Improving the methodological foundations of phytosanitary monitoring of agricultural crops and forecasting the development of harmful organisms.
- Ecological and economic substantiation of the formation of an assortment of modern chemical and biological means of protection; development of technologies for their application.
- Search and selection of sources of resistance of agricultural crops to dominant diseases.
- Development of pesticide application methods.

In order to improve the integrated systems for the protection of agricultural crops from harmful organisms, the technology for the use of preparations in the fight against pests, plant diseases and weeds, the determination of pesticide residues, the Institute cooperates with research organizations from far and near abroad - Poland, Lithuania, Moldova , Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, etc.
