Description
Experimental and Production Enterprise "Ferrit" manufactures magnetic suspension separators of the SMP-K series with permanent magnets, designed to remove large ferromagnetic metal objects fr om the flow of bulk materials (grain and its products, food products, root crops, wood shavings, sand, crushed stone and others bulk materials) moving along a belt conveyor (conveyor) or vibrating chute, to protect process equipment from damage by random metal objects.
Magnetic overhead separators of the SMP-K series are installed above the belt conveyor across the direction of material movement at a height of 100-400 mm from the conveyor belt. The efficiency of the magnetic separation process is increased if the separator is installed in the places wh ere the material is poured from the conveyor belt, when it is in a state of free fall.
Magnetic overhead separators of the SMP-K series are horizontally located belt conveyors of small size, consisting of a mechanism for moving its own conveyor belt and a magnetic system.
Principle of operation:
The magnetic block of the separator, which creates a powerful magnetic field, is installed above the conveyor belt that moves the material to be separated. In the zone of a powerful magnetic field, due to the different magnetic susceptibility of bulk material and metal objects under the influence of magnetic forces, metal-magnetic objects are separated from the non-magnetic flow of material, attracted to the lower part of the magnetic block and held on it until cleaning, and the purified product passes further along the conveyor.
Due to the presence in the SMP-K separator of its own conveyor belt, moving in the lower part of the separator under the magnetic block, metal objects are taken out and dumped into a container specially prepared for this, thus the separator is automatically cleaned.

- in foundry production (for cleaning molding sand and sand);
