Summary
The Scientific and Practical Centre for Bioresources offers consumers services for the development of recommendations using a system for monitoring and preventing the threat of the spread of pathogens of schistosomatid cercariasis in Belarus on the basis of an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
The system of control and prevention of the threat of the spread of causative agents of schistosomatid cercariasis in the water bodies of Belarus includes:
* guidelines for conducting an express risk assessment of the occurrence and spread of foci of schistosomatid cercariasis in water bodies of recreational areas;
* method for quantitative determination of the risk of formation of a local focus of cercariasis in natural and artificial reservoirs;
* a method for quantitative assessment of the degree of danger of water bodies in relation to schistosomatid cercariosis (introduced in the State Environmental Institution "National Park" Narochansky ").

For the first time, taking into account global trends, a unique adapted methodology has been developed for the conditions of Belarus.
Advantages and Innovations
The developed control system makes it possible to quickly identify potential and existing foci of cercariasis, assess the degree of their activity and possible risks of infecting people in water areas planned for use or already used as places for mass recreation of the population, as well as planning the development of recreational and tourist activities, taking into account the existing danger.

The developed control system ensured a 4-fold decrease in the incidence of cercarial dermatitis among vacationers on Lake Naroch.
