The Institute of Technical Acoustics offers consumers the ultrasonic sealer ZU-100 for blood bags and blood processing lines under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
The Institute of Technical Acoustics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus developed a medical device for sealing blood bags and blood processing lines - ultrasonic sealer ZU-100.

The device contains:
1) an ultrasonic generator,
2) a piezoelectric transducer,
3) a cutting element and
3) a movement mechanism.
The generator converts the electric energy into the energy of electrical vibrations in ultrasonic range, which than is converted into mechanical vibrations by the piezoceramic transducer and is transmitted through a waveguide into a polymer tube. Ultrasound, acting on the polymer material, melts it, and the movement mechanism provides constant compression of the tube, thereby welding it.

Specifications of the ZU-100:
* tube diameter - 3..6.5 mm
* welding time for tubes - 4..6 seconds
* power consumption:
- standby - 20 W
- welding - 100 W

The ultrasonic device is used by haematology centres and centres of blood transfusion for sealing blood bags and blood processing lines.

The institute offers consumers the ultrasonic sealer ZU-100 for blood bags and blood processing lines under a manufacturing agreement and offers interested partners device for distribution under a distribution services agreement.
Advantages and Innovations
Compared to low-performance mechanical joining methods and environmentally hazardous gluing operations, ultrasonic welding is environmentally friendly and provides higher productivity due to faster welding process, the ability to quickly change the welding tool, low weight and transportability of the device.
