Summary
The Center for Identification Systems offers consumers and distributors an information system for maintaining basic information about goods produced and sold in the territory of the Republic of Belarus for the purposes of automated accounting in distribution networks and conducting e-commerce processes under an outsourcing agreement or distribution agreement.
Description
The bank of electronic passports of goods (ePASS) is an information system for maintaining basic information about goods produced and sold in the territory of the Republic of Belarus for the purpose of automated accounting in commodity distribution networks and conducting e-commerce processes. A distinctive feature of ePASS is the full compliance of the information with its original source, which is the manufacturer or importer of the goods. This is ensured by the implementation of the “one window” principle in the system, which begins to work at the stage of assigning an identification (bar) GTIN code to a newly created product. It is at this moment that the electronic passport of the goods is formed. An integral part of the process of generating an electronic passport of a product is checking its quality according to the established procedure for compliance with international rules and standards of electronic commerce.
Electronic passports of goods as a whole or their individual attributes, including information about the manufacturer or importer, can be obtained from ePASS into users' own information systems both in “manual” mode, from the website www.epass.by, and automatically, through the WEB- services that replace "manual" operations with automatic data import. The presence in electronic passports of goods of information standardized according to international rules - "master data" (product identifier GTIN, GLN organization identifier, name, brand, unit of measurement, component composition, dimensions, country of origin, storage temperature, image, etc., including classification parameters according to national and international classifiers) allows users to more effectively operate their own information systems to automate warehousing operations, picking, loading vehicles, filling shelf space, generating orders, analyzing sales, generating paper and electronic shipping documents, etc., thereby reducing the time return on investment in automation.
A prerequisite for working with ePASS is that the user and his products have identifiers of the international system of open standards GS1:
* Global Location Number (GLN);
* The Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), commonly used as a barcode on an item.
Information on the consumer characteristics of the goods from ePASS is provided free of charge after scanning the bar code with the ePASS.MOBILe mobile phone scanner program. This program is also free and available for download and installation from http://epass.by or Google Play. Any legal entities and individuals, regardless of the country of location, can record information about goods and receive complete information about them from ePASS in all available parameters (including through automatic system-to-system synchronization) on the basis of an agreement. Trial access is free for a month.

Advantages and Innovations
The main advantage is that trading partners connected to ePASS (manufacturers of goods, their importers, wholesale and retail intermediaries, electronic trading platforms, exchanges, online stores, EDI providers, etc.) use uniform standardized descriptions of goods in business -processes, incl. and XML-formats of electronic documents (orders - ORDERS, invoices - INVOIC, invoices - DESADV, etc.), without wasting time and money on the coordination of formats, exchange protocols, elimination of manual input errors, etc.
