Institute of Potato Growing of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", "Methodology for calculating planting density taking into account the stem-forming ability and germination of tubers", "Technological map for cultivating seed potatoes on sod-podzolic sandy loam soils (yield 25-30 t/ha, row spacing 70 cm)", "Technological map cultivation of potatoes: food (35-40t/ha) and technical (40-45t/ha) on sod-podzolic sandy loam soils with row spacing of 70 cm.

This industry regulation establishes requirements for the implementation of technological operations for cultivating potatoes with the estimated yield:
♦ seed potatoes 25-30 t/ha and standard yield fractions not less than 70%;
♦ food - 35-40 t/ha;
♦ technical - 40-45 t/ha.

At present, the Scientific and Practical Centre for Potato, Fruit and Vegetable Growing is one of the leading agrarian scientific institutions in Belarus. Main directions of scientific activity:
1. Creation of fundamentally new varieties and hybrids of potatoes with a yield of 50.0-80.0 t/ha, fruits - 25.0-30.0 t/ha, berries - 10.0-12.0 t/ha and vegetable crops – 40.0–100.0 t/ha.
2. Development of targeted environmentally friendly resource-saving technologies for the production of potatoes, fruit and vegetable crops.
3. Ensuring variety change and variety renewal due to the accelerated production of original seed and planting material.
4. Scientific support of the potato and fruit and vegetable growing industries to increase their economic efficiency, competitiveness and fully meet the needs of the Republic of Belarus with high-quality potato, fruit and vegetable products.
