Summary
A.V. Luikov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the NAS of Belarus offers consumers services for the technological cleaning of parts of high-precision mechanisms from burrs, microparticles and microliquids under an outsourcing agreement or subcontract and is looking for partners to conclude a manufacturing agreement.
Description
At present, for all branches of mechanical engineering, the problem of technological cleaning of parts of high-precision mechanisms from burrs, microparticles and microliquids is relevant. The main processing methods that do not lead to additional micro-pollutions are electrochemical and thermal pulse. However, the electrochemical method can only remove impurities and defects on metals, while thermal pulse processing is applicable to metals, plastics, ceramics and composite materials and improves the quality of products, their working life, safety and increase the competitiveness of products in the market.

The A.V. Lykov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the NAS of Belarus has developed an installation for finishing thermal pulse processing of metals and plastics, in which burrs and process impurities are removed due to short-term (up to 20 ms) high-density thermal exposure.

Processing of parts is carried out inside a cylindrical chamber by generating a thermal pulse in it by an explosion of a combustible gas mixture. To intensify the processes of heat exchange between the part and the products of combustion, the combustion of fuel occurs in the detonation mode. The removal of combustion products is carried out in a hot state, which prevents the deposition of oxides and removed materials on the treated surfaces. The control system registers the pressure in the chamber during processing and records the measurements with a digital oscilloscope.

Technical characteristics of the installation:
dimensions 750х750х2600 mm
weight 3200 kg
processing chamber cylinder size 200х200 mm
processing chamber volume before locking 25,1 liters
processing chamber volume after locking 6,3 liters
maximum pressure 600 atm
exposure time 20 ms
process temperature 2500–3500 °С

Application area:
- finishing treatment of metals from foreign inclusions, surface defects, burrs;
- removal of flash from plastic parts;
- modification of the workpiece surface (increase in hardness, decrease in roughness).

The Institute offers partners:
 * technological cleaning of parts of high-precision mechanisms from burrs, microparticles and microliquids under a outsourcing agreement or subcontract;
 * installation for finishing thermal pulse processing of metals and plastics under a manufacturing agreement.
