Description
B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus manufactures cylindrical lenses, designed to focus (positive lens) or scatter (negative lens) a light beam along only one coordinate. They can also be used to focus light into a line to effectively generate harmonics. They are essential for creating a spherical shape-beam emitted by a laser diode, for focusing of beams to linear detectors or entrance slits of the devices.

The Institute manufactures the following types of cylindrical lenses:
* plane-spherical;
* flat-concave;
* bi-convex;
* bi-concave.

Lenses are manufactures with an optical coating for a given spectrum range. The materials of the lens substrate are colorless crown glass and flint glass, quartz glass, CaF2 crystals and other materials.
