Description
A.V.Luikov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute of the NAS of Belarus is equipped with a modern rheometer «PHYSICA MCR 301» by ANTON PAAR (Austria), which is designed for measuring dynamic viscosity and conducting rheological studies of various materials (liquid, consistency, viscoelastic and elastic).

The rheometer «PHYSICA MCR 301» is a laboratory automatic device consisting of a control unit, a measuring device, a temperature control system and a touch screen for manual control of the device. To transmit data and control the operation of the rheometer, a personal computer is used, on the screen of which the measurement results are displayed in the form of tables and graphical dependencies.

Rheometer «PHYSICA MCR 301» has the following operating modes:
1. Determination of shear stress dependence on shear rate in modes:
* shear rate control;
* shear stress control.
2. Determination of elastic moduli and loss moduli of consistent, viscoelastic and elastic materials during vibration tests in the following modes:
* amplitude sweep when controlling deformation;
* amplitude sweep when controlling voltage.
3. Determination of the compliance of consistent, viscoelastic and elastic materials in modes:
* constant shear strain;
* constant shear stress.
4. Determination of rheological properties when the gap value is changed:
* with a given velocity;
* with a given normal force.
