The Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the leading center of scientific research of the Republic of Belarus in the field of history, archeology, anthropology, one of the oldest scientific institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Founded on October 15, 1929. The Institute offers its services to consumers under an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners interested in concluding a distribution services agreement.

The main activities of the Institute of History:
* Scientific research on archeology, national and general history, anthropology, archeology, source studies, numismatics, genealogy, heraldry, sphragistics.
* Archaeological examination of building projects and rescue archaeological research.
* Inventory of archeological monuments and preparation of projects for their protection zones.
* Creation of electronic databases of anthropometric data of various population groups.
* Organization, development and coordination of activities for the scientific study, practical use and popularization of the historical and cultural heritage of the country.
* Development of scientific concepts for museums and museum complexes.
* Examination of scientific, scientific, technical and national economic programs, innovative projects, regulatory legal acts on the core activities of the institute.
* Preparation of scientific and popular science publications, photo albums, booklets on history, archeology and anthropology.
* Organization of scientific and scientific-practical conferences, round tables, seminars.
* Training of highly qualified scientific personnel through doctoral studies, postgraduate studies and competition.

The Institute of History has branches of the Department of Archeology and Special Historical Disciplines (Faculty of History of BSU) and the Department of Philosophy and Methodology of Science (Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of BSU).
