Summary
The Central Botanical Garden offers consumers services for conducting specialized practical training and supporting scientific research of university students in the field of biochemistry and plant biotechnology under an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners interested in a distribution services agreement.
Description
The following services are offered.
1. Conducting a specialized practical course on plant biochemistry: secondary metabolites: anthocyanins, their distribution in nature; determination of anthocyanins in various types of berry raw materials (in raw materials and during drying).
2. Conducting a specialized practical course on plant biochemistry: secondary metabolites: anthrocene derivatives, their distribution in nature; quantitative determination of anthroquinones in the bark, leaves and fruits of buckthorn.
3. Conducting a specialized practical course on plant biotechnology: the basics of creating aseptic collections; methods of sample deposition, clonal micropropagation of plants.
4. Supervision of the preparation of term papers, diploma and master's theses on the topic of plant biochemistry and biotechnology. 5practice management: by specialization, educational research, industrial pre-graduation, etc.
You can order the service and read the Price List of selling prices (tariffs) No. 106 dated August 27, 2024 for the services provided by the State Scientific Institution "Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus" here. (in Russian)

Additional comments
The Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the leading and largest center in the country for the conservation of biodiversity of living plants, a leading scientific institution in the field of introduction, acclimatization, physiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry and ecology of plants. Research and practical work in the field of plant introduction has ensured the creation of a gene pool of ornamental and economically useful introduced plants from more than 15 thousand names.
In accordance with the Charter, the main goal of the Central Botanical Garden is to conduct scientific research in the field of introduction, botany, physiology, biochemistry and biotechnology, ecology, green construction and phytodesign, rational sustainable use and protection of plant resources, as well as the preservation of the gene pool of plants of the world flora.
The Central Botanical Garden is one of the oldest botanical institutions in Belarus. In 1999, by decision of the Government of the Republic of Belarus, it was given the status of a scientific object constituting a national heritage. The Central Botanical Garden has been declared a botanical natural monument of national significance and historical and cultural value. Today it is a unique natural object of landscape gardening art, combining the functions of a metropolitan landmark and an important cultural, educational, ecological and educational center.
The main areas of scientific and technical activities:
- efficient use, renewal and protection of plant resources;
- identification of physiological and biochemical patterns and mechanisms for the formation of plant resistance and productivity;
- creation of scientific foundations for the introduction, protection, selection and management of acclimatization processes and - biological productivity of economically useful plants based on traditional and modern methods of biotechnology and genetic engineering;
- biological monitoring, ecology;
- industrial botany;
- green construction and phytodesign;
- use of plant resources in industry, agriculture, medicine;
- solving problems of biosafety of biological methods and technologies.
Promising areas of work of the Central Botanical Garden:
- development of scientific foundations and practical measures for the effective sustainable use of plant resources in the economy and social sphere of the country, for the conservation of the gene pool of rare and endangered species and habitats of representatives of the Belarusian flora.
- creation of new competitive varieties of ornamental, medicinal, spicy-aromatic, bioenergy plants and projects of original decorative compositions for various landscaping objects, including interiors.
- development of effective methods for accelerated production of planting material based on in vitro culture and methods of identification and protection from bacterial and viral contamination in order to obtain healthy planting material.
- study of the genetic diversity of plants and plant communities, their habitats and ecosystems, solving issues of systematics and taxonomy using traditional and molecular genetic approaches.
