Description
Honeysuckle is a perennial shrub of the Caprifoliaceae family (honeysuckle), genus Lonicera (honeysuckle).
Origin: seedling from open pollination of Kamchatka honeysuckle.
Early ripening variety, winter-hardy, productive (2.3-2.7 kg / bush or 76-90 c / ha). Begins to bear fruit in the 3rd year after planting in the garden. Has relative resistance to fungal diseases.
The bush is medium-sized, shoots are straight, light green. The leaf is green, without pubescence.
Biological characteristics: begins to bear fruit in the 3rd year after planting. Has relative resistance to fungal diseases.
Fruits are cylindrical, large (average weight - 0.96-1.3 g). The color of the fruits is blue with a strong waxy coating. The skin is of medium density. The taste is sweet and refreshing. There is no fruit shedding. Tasting score – 5 points.
Consumption period: June-July.

The Institute of Fruit Growing of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the first and currently the leading specialized organization in the field of fruit growing in the Republic of Belarus
The main areas of scientific and scientific-innovative activities of the Institute:
- selection and introduction of fruit, berry, nut crops, grapes and their rootstocks;
- creation of a bank of genetic resources of fruit, berry, nut crops and grapes for the purpose of practical use in selection, production and for interstate exchange or collection;
- development and improvement of technologies for the production, storage and processing of fruits and berries;
- diagnostics of viral, virus-like and bacterial pathogens and creation of basic collections of virus-free plants;
- development and improvement of technologies and production of healthy planting material;
- selection improvement of breeding and productive qualities of bees and improvement of technologies for their maintenance and use;
- development of republican standards for planting material, raw materials of fruit and berry crops and products of their processing;
- development of scientific and economic forecasts and comprehensive programs for the development of fruit growing and beekeeping in the Republic of Belarus;
- design and planting of gardens and berry fields;
- implementation of patent-licensing and inventive work, wide dissemination of scientific research results through information, advertising and publishing activities.
The Institute of Fruit Growing has concluded more than 80 agreements on scientific cooperation with fruit growing institutions from 23 countries.
In addition to broad international cooperation, the Institute actively interacts with research institutions of the Republic. In accordance with the order of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus dated 09.04.2007 No. 16, agreements on scientific support in the field of fruit growing were concluded between the Institute of Fruit Growing and the RUE "Grodno Zonal Institute of Plant Growing of the NAS of Belarus", RUE "Brest OSKhOS of the NAS of Belarus", RUE "Gomel OSKhOS of the NAS of Belarus".
