Summary
A.V.Luikov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the NAS of Belarus offers consumers services for studies of fast processes in chemically reacting media at high temperatures under an outsourcing agreement or subcontracting and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
A.V.LuikovInstitute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the NAS of Belarus is equipped with a set of equipment for studying fast processes in chemically reacting media, which allows obtaining a wide range of conditions with temperatures from 500 K to 5000 K, with characteristic times up to 60 ms. For a quantitative study of fast processes that develop with a sharp change in the thermodynamic state of a gas or liquid, rapid compression units and shock tubes are used.

The rapid compression unit is used to implement the method for modeling the process of adiabatic compression and ignition. The installation implements one compression cycle and allows you to study processes with inert and reactive gas mixtures, as well as with liquid fuels.

Specifications of the rapid compression unit:
compression ratio 40
compression speed до 15 m/s
compression time до 10 ms
maximum temperature due to compression 1000 K
maximum pressure 20 atm.
characteristic time of processes до 20 ms

Shock tubes are used to create high temperatures and densities both in a one-dimensional moving gas flow behind an incident shock wave and in an ideal volume of a medium at rest behind a reflected shock wave. The Institute has pipes with a circular channel section (diameters 25, 28, 50, 76 mm) and a rectangular channel section (50x50, 45x90, 30x120 mm).

Specifications of the shock tubes:
shock tube length up to 8 m
characteristic times of processes up to 3-5 ms
operating temperatures:
inert gas mixtures up to 5000 K
chemically reacting mixtures up to 2000 K

To register processes, a high-speed FASTCAM SA-Z video camera with a maximum frequency of 2.1 million frames per second, a resolution of 128x8 pixels and 2.1 thousand frames per second with a megapixel image is used.

The Hamamatsu photonic multi-channel analyzer c10029 spectrometer is used to conduct research on the 200-900 nm spectrum.

Research areas:
- kinetics of chemical reactions of gas mixtures, liquid fuels with an evaporation temperature of up to 120 °C;
- processes of combustion, pyrolysis, detonation;
- flow around bodies of various geometry by a supersonic gas flow;
- emission spectra in gases at high temperatures.

The Institute offers partners services for studies of fast processes in chemically reacting media at high temperatures under an outsourcing agreement or subcontract.
