Summary
The Republican Unitary Enterprise "Geoinformation Systems" offers consumers services for the use of the Perspective Russian-Belarusian Earth Remote Sensing Spacecraft for solving various problems, including environmental monitoring, under an outsourcing agreement and/or subcontracting, and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
Scope of application.
Remote sensing data obtained by RBKA is used for the socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, including to address the following issues:
- inventory of natural resources (agricultural and forest lands, pastures, etc.) and monitoring of economic processes to ensure sustainable activities in the rural, forestry, and other sectors of the national economy;
- creation and updating of topographic maps at a scale of up to 1:10,000 and city plans at a scale of up to 1:10,000, general geographic and thematic maps, maintenance of state topographic maps, and maintenance of state topographic monitoring;
- creation of digital elevation models;
- monitoring pollution and environmental degradation;
- monitoring of emergency situations (floods, droughts, landslides, etc.);
- state environmental monitoring.
The Russian-Belarusian Spacecraft (RBKA) is one of the most promising spacecraft for Earth remote sensing (ERS) with high-resolution imaging.
The RBKA's payload includes:
- ultra-high-resolution target equipment, providing target information in panchromatic and multispectral channels, as well as high-resolution video;
- multispectral target equipment, including an atmospheric sounder, providing target information at high spatial resolution.
The target information obtained by the RBKA enables the solution of a wide range of relevant problems and is in high demand in the rapidly developing ERS market.
Surveillance modes: route, object, wide-angle, stereo, and video.
Information about the Promising Russian-Belarusian spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth is published in the Catalogue "Advanced Developments of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus" 2024. pp. 32-33.

Additional comments
In 1996, work began on developing a remote wildfire detection system using Earth remote sensing data from space as part of the State Scientific and Technical Program "Minimizing and Overcoming the Consequences of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Disaster" and the State Scientific and Technical Program "Emergencies" for 1996-2000.
The company participated in the Union State program "Development and Use of Space Facilities and Technologies for Receiving, Processing, and Displaying Space Information" (Cosmos-BR) (1999-2003).
The company was included in the list of contractors for the BKSDS project and was designated the organization operating the BKSDS.
The company was designated the National Operator of the Belarusian Space System for Remote Sensing of the Earth (hereinafter referred to as the BKSDS) for the purpose of operating the BKSDS and the Belarusian spacecraft, as well as interacting with organizations involved in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.
In 2006, the Space Information Reception Center was established.
Resolution No. 1517 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated October 14, 2008, approved the "National Program for the Exploration and Use of Outer Space for Peaceful Purposes for 2008-2012," which includes the subprogram "Development of the Belarusian Space System for Earth Remote Sensing." As part of this subprogram, the company is creating the infrastructure and core technologies of the Belarusian Space System for Earth Remote Sensing, ensuring the operation and maintenance of the BSA and meeting the needs of Belarusian and foreign users for Earth remote sensing services and data, both from the BSA and from advanced foreign spacecraft.
The company began implementing the Union State program "Development of an Integrated System for Standardization of Space Technology Created within the Framework of Union State Programs and Projects" ("Standardization-SG") as the lead organization (2011-2014).
In 2015, the company began its participation as the competent organization of the Republic of Belarus for the reception and processing of space information provided by the International Charter on Space and Major Disasters. The company was accepted as a member of the PanGeo international alliance of Earth remote sensing satellite operators.
The company is the lead implementing organization on behalf of the Republic of Belarus for the Union State program "Development, Modernization, and Harmonization of Regulatory, Organizational, Methodological, and Hardware-Software Support for the Targeted Use of Earth Remote Sensing Space Systems of Russia and Belarus" (Integration-SG) (2020-2023).
