Institute of Technical Acoustics offers consumers and distributors an ultrasonic welding machine for blood transfusion lines under a manufacturing or distribution agreement.

A medical device has been developed that is used by blood transfusion stations and hematology and transfusion centers for sealing containers of systems for collecting, storing, and processing blood - the ZU-100 brewer. The infuser contains an ultrasonic generator, a piezoelectric transducer, a cutting element, and a movement mechanism. The generator converts the energy of the power supply network into the energy of electrical vibrations of ultrasonic frequency, which, with the help of a piezoceramic transducer, transforms into mechanical vibrations, which are transmitted through a waveguide to a polymer tube.

Ultrasound, acting on the polymer material, melts it, and the movement mechanism provides compression of the tube with a given constant pressure, thereby producing its sealing.

Compared to low-performance mechanical joining methods and environmentally hazardous gluing operations, ultrasonic welding is an environmentally friendly operation and provides higher productivity due to high welding speed, the ability to quickly change the welding tool, and the lightness and transportability of the machine.

Brewers ZU-100 are used at blood transfusion stations in the Republic of Belarus.
