Research and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Arable Farming offers buyers winter rapeseed seeds Viten under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners to transfer the variety under a license agreement.

The new variety Viten is characterized by a high yield potential due to the density of the pods on the plant, the number of seeds in the pod, the size of the seeds, the consistency of flowering and ripening (in comparison with the standard variety Leader).

Winter rapeseed variety Viten - non-erucovy, low-glucosinolate (0.5..0.6 %), quality "canola", mid-ripening, large-seeded (1000 seeds weight - 4.22..5.02 g), oilseed (seeds contain 44, 2..47.8 % fat), is distinguished by winter hardiness (85..97 %), resistance to lodging and shedding (8..9 points), uniformity of ripening. Medium resistant to major diseases. Recommended to be cultivated in accordance with industry regulations for winter rapeseed.

The maximum yield of 84.2 c/ha was obtained in a competitive variety trial in 2017, which is at the level and exceeds the maximum yield of hybrid varieties of winter rapeseed of foreign selection.

The introduction of the new variety will ensure an increase in the stability of overwintering of the crop (by 5..7 %), an increase in the gross harvest of seeds ≥ 15 %, oil by 2.0 centners/ha. The development is competitive, import-substituting, will reduce the price of crop seeds by 7-10 times and save up to 10 million US dollars annually.

The excess in yield over the standard variety Leader for three years was 10.6 c/ha or 19.0 %.
