Information regarding the University of Arizona’s public AI consultant  the Tech Launch Arizona Assistant (https://techlaunch.arizona.edu/about) has been added to the section.

Launched in May 2025, the Tech Launch Arizona Assistant provides guidance on patenting, licensing, startups, and the commercialization of innovations.

The Tech Launch Arizona Assistant is a generative RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) assistant utilizing a vector knowledge base. Its operating principle can be described as follows:

1.       The user's query is converted into a search representation.

2.       The system retrieves relevant excerpts from the specialized Tech Launch Arizona knowledge base.

3.       The retrieved materials are fed to a large language model as context.

4.       The model generates a response addressing patenting, licensing, startups, and technology commercialization.
