Description
The purpose of the technology development is to introduce optimal conditions (technologies) for storing potato tubers, taking into account the direction of use, biological characteristics of the variety and agricultural technology of cultivation, ensuring higher preservation of tubers and reducing the cost price during the storage period.

The technology for storing seed potatoes was developed using ventilation systems of the V technological structure. This ventilation equipment is based on the creation of high air pressure by using centrifugal fans, the pressure of which is 2-3 times higher than that of the common axial one.

Advantages and Innovations
The use of seed potato storage technology using equipment of the 5th technological structure is characterized by higher quality, reliability and durability compared to traditional storage technology.

The seed potato storage technology determines the features of the use of ventilation equipment of the 5th technological structure during the period of long-term storage of potato tubers, ensuring the creation of optimal conditions for increasing the preservation of tubers, reducing losses during the storage period, increasing the quantitative yield of preserved potatoes while maintaining maternal potential.

Advantages of potato storage technologies using ventilation systems of the 5th technological structure:
- ventilation equipment was developed in the Republic of Belarus;
- reduction of energy consumption by 1.5–2.0 times (reduction of energy consumption by 20% at full power; by 50% – when the motor is running at 80% speed);
- the ventilation system is equipped with anti-condensation and anti-stress
sensors;
- reliable ventilation of the embankment up to 6 m with high aerodynamic resistance;
the possibility of separate regulation of storage conditions in multi-section storage facilities;
environmental friendliness of the environment (lower CO2 emissions);
- increase in potato yield by an average of 5.90% (2.78 t/ha) due to higher preservation and germination of seed potatoes.

The ventilation equipment used meets modern environmental requirements and allows to meet the status of environmentally friendly production as the main criteria of "Green Technology" (lower CO2 emissions).

The Republican Unitary Enterprise "Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Potato, Fruit and Vegetable Growing" is a dynamically developing state scientific selection and seed-growing enterprise and is the leading organization in the Republic of Belarus in the field of potato and fruit and vegetable growing.

The scientific work of the Center is comprehensive. The co-executors of the topic are the Institute of Plant Protection, the Grodno Zonal Institute of Plant Growing, regional agricultural experimental stations, the Institute of Genetics and Cytology, the Institute of Biophysics and Cell Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Food, the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy and a number of other institutions, which allows us to deepen the theoretical focus of the research, the depth of elaboration of the experimental material, the reliability of conclusions and recommendations for the conditions of various regions of the Republic of Belarus.
