Description
The "Konus" offers services in hot-dip galvanizing of metal products for customers from Belarus, Russia, and other CIS countries and neighboring countries. The plant performs galvanizing of large and lengthy structures, road fenders, lighting masts, cable support systems, products made of sheet metal, etc. It carries out the refinement of products before galvanizing, packaging of galvanized products, delivery by its own transport.
The "Konus" plant produces hot-dip galvanizing of products using modern equipment of the Italian company "Gimeko" using the latest technology. Thorough preparation of the steel surface, including degreasing using surfactants, pickling, washing, and fluxing, guarantees European quality coating.
Galvanization is carried out both externally and internally. The high-tech new equipment allows galvanizing of unique structures weighing up to 6 tons after individual processing of the order by technologists. Overall dimensions of the galvanizing bath: (length x width x height) 15 × 1.8 × 3.5 m. The thickness of the zinc coating: from 40 to 200 microns.
The main stages of the process:
1. Reception and suspension of ferrous metal structures
Metal structures must be delivered in batches with steel-grade indications and must meet the required criteria.
2. Chemical preparation of metal structures
2.1 Degreasing
The degreasing process is designed to remove grease stains, oils and other synthetic impurities from the surface of the "black" metal structures that slow down and worsen the etching process.
2.2 Flushing
Rinsing after degreasing is carried out in order to remove fat droplets from metal structures. Prevention of their entry into pickling baths.
2.3 Etching
Preparation of metal surface for galvanizing. The pickling process is designed to remove rust and scale. The surface of the steel is activated without damaging it.
2.4 Flushing
Washing after etching is necessary to remove iron chloride residues from the surface of metal products and to prevent the transfer of hydrochloric acid solution to the fluxing bath.
2.5 Fluxing
The process of applying a protective layer to the surface of metal structures. Prevents the formation of oxide films. Provides a high degree of adhesion of the zinc melt to the metal surface.
3. Drying
Metal products are heated to a temperature of 100 - 120 ° C. Moisture is removed from the surface of the product, and temperature preparation for the galvanizing process takes place.
4. Galvanizing
The galvanizing process is the main technological process of hot galvanizing. It is produced in a zinc melt at a temperature of 450 °C.
5. Cooling
In the process of cooling, the final appearance of the zinc coating of metal products takes place.
6. Zinc coating quality control
The applied zinc coating is subjected to control in appearance and thickness in accordance with GOST 9.307-89, STB ISO 1461-2009.

The Belarusian Specialized Territorial Administration "Konus" was created by the order of the USSR Ministry of Radio Industry dated 30.08.1984 No. 517 with the assignment of functions for the supply and technical maintenance of automated troop control systems (Front ACS "Maneuver") and transferred to the ownership of the Republic of Belarus in accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated October 14, 1991 No. 385 "On the procedure for accepting enterprises, associations, organizations and institutions of union subordination into the ownership of the Republic of Belarus".
RUPP "Konus" was transferred to the subordination of the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Agricultural Mechanization" in pursuance of the Resolution of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus dated July 9, 2009 No. 59 "On the transfer of republican unitary enterprises to scientific and practical centers".
In order to protect metals from corrosion, an investment project was created "Creation of production for corrosion protection of long metal structures by hot-dip galvanizing". The project was initiated by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
2022. The application of a passivating coating on a fresh zinc coating was introduced into production.
2023. The enterprise began operating a pilot site for applying an anti-corrosion coating to metal products using the thermal diffusion galvanizing method.
