Description
The industry regulation "Flax cultivation. Typical technological processes" on typical technological processes of flax cultivation for fiber and seeds is a normative document that accumulates the achievements of scientific and technological progress, establishes requirements for the most rational implementation of technological operations and contains a list of controlled parameters, standards and levels of labor quality assessment. Compliance with the requirements of the industry regulation ensures guaranteed yield of flax seeds and fiber, obtaining high-quality products.
For convenience in practical use of the requirements for the quality of the most important technological operations and methods for their assessment, a typical technological map for the cultivation and harvesting of flax is provided in the appendix.
It is intended for flax-growing farms, specialists in the agro-industrial complex, researchers, teachers of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions.

The Institute of Flax is the leading scientific organization in the Republic in the field of flax growing and flax processing.
The main priority areas of activity of the Flax Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus are:
- Creation of new highly productive varieties of fiber flax of various maturity groups and high-yielding, high-fat varieties of oil flax with high technological and food qualities of oil.
- Primary seed production of zoned and promising varieties of fiber flax and oil flax.
- Development of environmentally friendly, resource-saving technologies for the cultivation and harvesting of new and promising varieties of fiber flax and oil flax in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus.
- Development of agrotechnical methods for increasing the yield and quality of flax products and reducing the cost of production of flax products.

- creating a national flax collection, studying it, replenishing it, and targeting its use in selection;
- selection and immunological assessment of the source material of flax for the purpose of targeting the creation of varieties resistant to various pathogens;
- developing a technology for cultivating new zoned varieties of fiber flax and oil flax;
- developing new compositions of complex fertilizers;
diagnostics of mineral nutrition of fiber flax and oil flax;
- studying the relationship between the density of the stem stand and mineral nutrition, their influence on the quality indicators of fiber and seeds of fiber flax;
- studying the relationship between stem density and mineral nutrition on the yield and quality indicators of oil flax seeds;
- developing methods for reducing the incidence of diseases of straw and seeds of fiber flax and oil flax;
- expanding research in the direction of improving the technology of dew soaking of flax straw and standardization of flax products;
- conducting research on the further development of the theory of obtaining scutched flax fiber and identifying patterns of change in the structure of the stem layer at the stages of agricultural production;
- developing new instrumental methods for assessing the quality of scutched flax fiber and flax products.
International scientific and technical cooperation has been established with leading research organizations of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, engaged in the cultivation and processing of flax.
