Summary
The Institute for Nature Management offers consumers the Innovative targeted biopreparation "KISET" for increasing rapeseed oilseed yields under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners for implementation in the production process under a licensing agreement and/or a distribution services agreement.
Description
The global market for innovative targeted bioproducts for rapeseed is led by major agrochemical and biotechnology companies: Syngenta Biologicals (after acquiring industry leader Valagro), Corteva Agriscience, Bayer Crop Science, Novonesis (an alliance of Novozymes and Chr. Hansen), and BASF. These companies create highly specialized biostimulants, inoculants, and biocontrol agents that hit the mark: they activate specific metabolic pathways in rapeseed, accelerate branching, increase pod strength, and protect the crop from stress.

Top 5 global manufacturers and their rapeseed technologies.
1. Syngenta Biologicals (Switzerland/Italy). Integrates the patented GeaPower® technology (developed by Valagro). It uses targeted molecular screening to create biostimulants that specifically stimulate root growth in rapeseed and increase frost resistance.
2. Novonesis (Denmark). A world leader in the production of specialized microbiological strains and enzymes. Their targeted biopreparations for oilseed crops colonize the rapeseed rhizosphere, specifically converting bound phosphorus and potassium into a form easily absorbed by the plant.
3. Corteva Agriscience (USA). Actively developing a line of nitrogen-fixing biopreparations (for example, BlueN / Utrisha N technology). Bacteria penetrate the stomata of rapeseed leaves and provide it with targeted nitrogen directly from the atmosphere throughout the growing season.
4. Bayer Crop Science (Germany). Focuses on biological seed treatments and the integration of biological disease control systems for rapeseed into traditional chemical protection regimens, minimizing pesticide loads.
5. BASF (Germany). Develops highly specialized seed biopreparations (including inoculants and biological polymers) that maximize rapeseed germination energy under stressful conditions.

The biopreparation "Kiset," the production technology for which was developed at the Institute of Nature Management, is produced using a natural raw material—tobacco dust—by chemically processing it in an alkaline environment at elevated temperatures. The active ingredients of the product are biologically active compounds with insecticidal and growth-stimulating properties, which are dissolved from the original raw material and also formed during secondary synthesis. The mass fraction of organic compounds in the product is 60 g/L, and the mineral content is 21.6 g/L. The main insecticidal substance is the tobacco alkaloid nicotine, whose content in the solution is 1.2–1.8 g/L. The predominant growth-stimulating component is melanoidins, which account for 64.3% of the organic matter. Significant amounts of carboxylic acids (16.2%) and free phenolic compounds (2.9%) are also present. The biological efficacy of the product against the rape blossom beetle in spring and winter rape was 52.6–75.9%, the seed worm beetle (69.2–82.1%), and the cabbage midge (53.7–68.2%). The use of the Kiset biopreparation increased rapeseed oilseed yield by 17.4–21.7%, contributed to an increase in oil content by 1.1–2.4% (2.5–6.2% in relative terms) compared to the control, and did not increase glucosinolate content.

The information is published in the Catalogue "Advanced Developments of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus." 2024, pp. 150-151.
Advantages and Innovations
Advantages of the "Kiset" biological product:
- produced from a natural raw material, tobacco dust, a waste product of tobacco production;
- highly effective, used in small doses;
- provides protection for rapeseed plants from a range of pests
with a biological effectiveness of 53-82%;
- has a combined insecticidal and growth-stimulating effect;
- stimulates plant growth and development;
- increases rapeseed oilseed yield by 17-21% and their oil content, beneficially affects the chemical composition and quality of rapeseed oil;
- enables the production of environmentally friendly products;
- according to toxicological, hygienic, and ecotoxicological characteristics, it is classified as a low-hazard substance (hazard class 3), harmless to humans, animals, soil and aquatic flora and fauna;
- safe for bees, unlike chemical pesticides, can
be used during the flowering phase of plants;
– does not accumulate in agricultural products.
Scientific and technical level – comparable to foreign analogues.
