Description
«Scientific and Production Centre for Multifunctional Unmanned Systems» of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus offers consumers infrared decoy flares intended for use as an infrared target or signaling device.
Infrared decoy flare consists of:
* a metal cylindrical body (one side of which is closed by metal bottom and other by a plug) with an attachment to an air carrier;
* filled pyrotechnic composition;
* electric ignition system.
Principle of action:
Infrared decoy flare is fixed on carrier by eyelet, is launched by supplying voltage from electric current source to electric explosion circuit through the main wires to the electric igniters, after which layer-by-layer combustion of pyrotechnic composition takes place. This releases high-temperature luminous combustion products, which creates an imitation of thermal radiation of a visually observed target, which makes it possible to detect and fire at her missiles with thermal homing heads.
Infrared decoy flares solve following tasks:
* imitation of heat radiation of an aerial (ground) object intended for training AA snipers of man-portable air defense systems such as «Strela-2», «Strela-3», «Stinger», «Mistral», «Igla», «Igla-1», of air defense system «Strela-10» and other ADS that have missiles with thermal homing heads;
* increase of target visibility for AA missile and gun system «Tunguska», air defense system «Osa-AKM», self-propelled AA vehicle ZSU 23-4 «Shilka».
Visual detection range with naked eye (with meteorological visibility range of at least 10 km) is 5.0 km.
