Description
The peer-reviewed Scientific and technical journal "Food Industry: Science and Technology" was founded in 2008. It is included in the List of Scientific Publications of the Republic of Belarus for the Publication of Dissertation Research Results (Order of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus dated February 2, 2011, No. 26). It is published four times a year.
It is intended for specialists, researchers, and readers working in the food security system, working with new technologies and food products.
The journal covers modern achievements in fundamental and applied research on technological processes in all sectors of the food processing industry, as well as the results of scientific research and its practical application.
The journal "Food Industry: Science and Technology" is included in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) database.

The Scientific and Practical Center for Foodstuffs of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus occupies a leading position in the Republic of Belarus in the food industry due to its concentration of scientific research aimed at solving pressing problems in the development of new technologies and equipment and the creation of a range of new competitive food products for various population groups.
Main objectives in the area of quality:
- developing fundamentally new methodological foundations for fundamental and applied research aimed at implementing state development programs for the Republic of Belarus in the food industry;
- developing and implementing new science-intensive and energy-saving technologies (biotechnologies) for the deep processing of raw materials of plant and animal origin;
- developing a wide range of functional, preventative, and special-purpose food products (including for children) that meet international standards of quality, safety, and competitiveness.
The main activities of the Scientific and Practical Center for Foodstuffs of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus:
- scientific support for technological and technical issues related to the improvement and reconstruction of enterprises in the fruit and vegetable, starch, wine, spirits, liquor, beer and soft drinks, oil and fat, confectionery, sugar, and other food industries in order to enhance the competitiveness and quality of food products;
- development and implementation of new technologies for the deep processing of raw materials of animal and plant origin for the production of a wide range of food and feed products;
- development of technical regulatory legal acts (STB, technical specifications, GOST, Codes of Established Practice, technical regulations of the Customs Union and amendments thereto), technological documents (technological instructions, recipes) for food products, including functional, preventive, health-improving, and special-purpose products (including for children), that meet international standards of quality, safety, and competitiveness;
- development of technical documentation and data sheets for equipment, manufacture of experimental and serial technological equipment for the food industry, as well as general-purpose machinery and equipment; - Development of technologies for storing and preparing raw materials of plant and animal origin for processing;
Development of new and revision of existing standards for the consumption of raw materials and auxiliary materials for food industry enterprises;
- Certification of food, perfumery, and cosmetic products, containers, and packaging; Assessment of production laboratories for technical competence, and metrological support for food industry production;
- Development of methods, testing for determining the quality and safety indicators of raw materials and food products, and issuance of test reports.
A total of 70 international agreements on scientific and technical cooperation are in effect with research organizations and universities in Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Armenia, Sweden, Bulgaria, and China. Representatives of foreign organizations participate in seminars and conferences organized by the Scientific and Practical Center for for Foodstuffs of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
