Description
At the present stage, it is impossible to implement national economic policy in accordance with the interests of society without deep fundamental economic research. The Belarusian socio-economic model has a scientific basis and was built on the theoretical and methodological developments of Belarusian scientists.

The distinctive features of the Belarusian socio-economic model are a developed system of public administration; independent diversified foreign economic policy based on the priority of national interests, equality of forms of ownership; multi-vector social policy and a system of social guarantees. The Belarusian economic model organically combines elements of market and state regulation, which allows the state, while guaranteeing the proper level of economic freedom, to actively coordinate economic activity, concentrate resources to achieve strategic goals of socio-economic development and ensure national security.

In modern conditions, economic relations as an object of economic research have become significantly more complex. The processes have acquired a dynamic and difficult to predict nature. In these conditions, the role of science in general and economic science in particular is significantly increasing. As noted by the President of the Republic of Belarus
Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko in his Address to the Belarusian People and the National Assembly on March 31, 2023: "The role of science, including scientists, must be raised by an order of magnitude."

In order to mobilize the scientific potential of the country's leading scientists and scientific organizations to solve urgent theoretical, methodological and practical problems in the field of socio-economic development, an interdisciplinary research cluster "Belarusian Economic School" was created and is actively operating on the basis of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The core of the cluster is formed by academic organizations - the Institute of Economics, the Institute of System Research in the Agro-Industrial Complex and the Center for System Analysis and Strategic Research.

The cluster is designed to determine the growth points of the country's long-term scientific and technical development, is aimed at the development of scientific schools, ensures the continuity of scientific traditions, supports research by young scientists, and promotes the formation and implementation of innovative scientific and educational programs.

The Belarusian Economic School is based on the fundamental principles of political economy, taking into account the specifics of the national model of socio-economic development - the priority of the real sector, the diversity of the structure, the technological nature of the dominant sectors of the economy. Theoretical and applied scientific research conducted within the framework of the Belarusian Economic School corresponds to global trends in the development of economic science.
