Summary
Scientific and Practical Centre for Foodstuffs offers food manufacturers the technology to identify and quantify palm oil as a component of vegetable fats in foods under a commercial agreement with technical assistance, and is looking for partners to conclude a research cooperation agreement.
Description
At present, the problems associated with the identification and quantification of individual oils and fats in various proportions in food products have not been fully resolved. The methods of product quality control in force in the Republic of Belarus (technical regulatory legal acts regulating the requirements for products and establishing methods for monitoring quality indicators) do not fully reliably determine its authenticity, since they are based on the analytical determination of indirect, generalized product indicators that do not characterize it actual composition.
Advantages and Innovations
Guidelines for the identification of palm oil in foodstuffs regulate the determination of fatty acid, sterol, tolk compositions of the fatty structure of food products, the ratios of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen isotopes and determine the presence or absence of palm oil.
