Summary
The Institute of Biochemistry of Biologically Active Compounds offers consumers a multivitamin drug "Neurovasotropin" for the prevention of complications of diabetes (microangiopathy, neuropathy) under a manufactoring agreement and is looking for partners interested in a distribution services agreement.
Description
The drug is intended for the prevention and correction of complications in patients with diabetes mellitus type 1 and 2. Antioxidant, anti-stress agent to reduce the degree of oxidative damage in diabetes (neuropathy, microangiopathy, nephropathy).
In connection with the important task of import substitution in the field of pharmaceuticals in the Republic of Belarus, an original drug has been developed for the prevention of complications in diabetes, which can be successfully produced in the country, replacing imported products (lipoic acid).
The pronounced antioxidant properties of thiamine and its derivatives have been revealed, which are used to develop a new drug "Neurovasotropin" based on lipoic acid, thiamine and pyridoxine. It has been established that pyridoxal phosphate to a lesser extent, and thiamine to a greater extent potentiate the antioxidant activity of lipoic acid. Inhibition of hydroxyl radical generation in the Fenton reaction by thiamine and thiochrome is a decisive argument in favor of their use with lipoic acid in oxidative stress. Thiamine is a more powerful antioxidant than lipoic acid in terms of its inhibitory effect on tyrosyl radicals of tyrosine.
Information is posted in the "Album of Promising Developments of Organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for the Real Sector of the Economy" (2023), pp. 380-381. (in Russian)

Advantages and Innovations
The hypoglycemic, anti-stress, antioxidant effect of the drug was established on the model of alloxan diabetes in rats. The drug "Neurovasotropin" stabilizes the activity of the glutathione system, inhibits lipid peroxidation processes in rat tissues.
The developed complex has antioxidant, hypoglycemic effects, reduces the degree of glycotoxicity, and also an anti-stress effect, which is manifested in a decrease in the level of corticosterone. The introduction of the complex increases the survival rate of rats with alloxan diabetes by 2 times. The antioxidant effect of the developed complex significantly (more than 1.5 times) exceeds the effects of a well-known antioxidant agent used in diabetology - lipoic acid.
The developed product consists of a complex of biologically active substances used in pharmacology, their bioavailability is well studied. In pharmacological concentrations, they are safe.
The composition of the drug is innovative, there are no analogues. Additional studies to expand the application are possible.
Developed on the basis of the author's concept of hormonal mediation of the action of vitamins [Vinogradov, 1999], the new anti-stress complex "Neurovasotropin" is more effective in the prevention and correction of complications of diabetes mellitus (microangiopathy, neuropathy, nephropathy) than foreign analogues.
