Summary
B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus offers consumers a laser system for non-invasive express diagnosis of cancer tissues under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners interested in a distribution services agreement.
Description
B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus manufactures laser systems for non-invasive express diagnosis of cancer tissues, the basic principle of which is to registration of time-resolved fluorescent characteristics of the tissue's own fluorescence and diffusely reflected light spectra with subsequent processing of the obtained data by multidimensional statistics analysis.
Laser system includes:
* computer;
* spectrometer;
* monochromator;
* halogen lamp;
* pulse laser;
* fiber optic probe;
* module of timecorrelated photons counting;
* photo-electron multiplier.
The system has the following distinctive features:
* small size;
* applicability to various types of human tissue;
* fiber-optic probe for supplying the sample with radiation;
* high-speed of sample scanning and diagnosis;
* ability to diagnose tissues with high content of blood vessels;
* no preliminary injections of drugs for diagnostics.
The system allows:
* significantly reduce the time and economic costs of pathological and anatomical diagnosis of cancer;
* in some cases, refuse repeated surgical intervention;
* increase the likelihood of a positive outcome of the treatment process.
Dependence of the average autofluorescence duration on the registration wavelength for healthy pituitary tissue (●) & pituitary adenoma (● ):
Sensitivity and specificity of pituitary adenoma detection using discriminant analysis - 100%. Healthy pituitary tissue (●) pituitary adenoma (● ):
Application area: medicine.
More information, see article. (in Russian)
