On May 19, 2023, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Economic Policy Mr. Leonid Brich, a meeting of the working group was held to discuss the draft Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Amendments to Laws on Entrepreneurial Activity”.

The event was attended by members of the Permanent Commissions, as well as representatives of 17 state bodies and organizations. The NAS of Belarus was represented at the meeting by Dr. Alexander Uspenskiy, Head of the Department "Republican Center for Technology Transfer" of the State Scientific Institution "Center for System Analysis and Strategic Studies of the NAS of Belarus".

During the discussion, the comments and proposals of the business community on the draft law received by the House of Representatives based on the results of dialogue platforms held in the regions on the issues of determining small and medium-sized businesses and changing approaches to the procedure for providing them with state support, in particular, to individuals and legal entities with the status of a start-up or spin-off company (small innovative / science-intensive / high-tech enterprises formed on the basis of the results of scientific research and development, created primarily with public funds).

Based on the results of the discussion, possible solutions to the issues raised were developed.
